Stress — Is it making you sick?
Does stress really affect your Health?
How do you sleep?
Stress can push the body out of balance. Stress makes symptoms appear. For example, if you had a headache after your boss yelled at you, most likely you would blame it on the stress of your boss, when in reality you most likely had an underlying headache brewing prior to the argument with your boss. Stress brought it out.
Physical stress
Not only is there psychological stress, but also there is also physical stress. Poor diet, lack of physical exercise all pushes your body out of balance. Think of the things you are exposed to on a daily basis in our environment…heavy metals, toxins, pollutants, cleaning chemicals, viruses, and bacteria. All of these have an affect on the body and cause it not to function at an optimal level. So if you add all of these stressors your body begins to breakdown and you start showing symptoms.
Ways to de-stress
There are ways to de-activate stress in your body. Meditation or even deep breathing are just two examples. Think about stress that you have in your life that can be reduced or diminished in some way. We all have stress driving, at work, etc., and these stressors may or may not be able to be addressed. But there are many environmental stressors you have control over.
Many people take drugs to mask the symptoms of one thing or another. We are trying to rid ourselves of chemicals in the body to decrease our bodily stress, don’t you think drugs are adding to this mess. It is a foreign chemical in the body.
Think of your body as a bank account. You want to save your “stress” reserves for when you really need it. So therefore, if you get enough sleep, eat healthy and often, exercise, live a balanced life you will be adding to your bank account reserves. So when a real stress comes along you will be able to pull from these reserves instead of your body breaking down.
