Posture Perfect - Is it important?
Perfect Posture - A Personal Trainers Point of View
Take a look around you. How many people have poor posture? Just about everyone you look at. Yes, aging and lifestyle all play a role but it is not to say that it can’t be reversed.
Look in the fitness and exercise industry, many of these individuals have issues with their posture. They keep exercising and training the same way to make them even more imbalanced
Who has good posture?
If someone has good posture they most likely are a dancer, take yoga or Pilates in which posture is emphasized.
Is posture important?
So is good posture all what it is cracked up to be? Yes, you can be cracking from your foundation inside….lacking, essential vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and fatty acids, but your outside can be contributing to your body aches and pains.
What do I mean by this? Well your mother always told you that you are what you wear on your feet. She was somewhat right. When you stand shoulder width apart. Your weights should be even distributed on all parts of your feet. Stand up right now and see where you are distributing your weight. Most of us stand on just a small portion of our foot.
If this is not corrected with shoes or orthotics it creates undo stress on the joints from your ankles up to your neck. It also causes specific muscles to be tight and others to be weak creating an imbalance that leads to a lifetime of discomfort and pain.
Are you really out of alignment?
How do you know if you are out of alignment? The easiest way is to look in the mirror; even get someone to take a picture of you front, side and rear views. Observe the differences.
I will be coming out with a video to show you in detail how to do this.
Remember, your total wellness is a package and alignment plays a large role in how you look and feel. Getting the correct exercise program is key to correcting your imbalances.
