HARMONIC LIVING – A Few Key Aspects
By Gail Edgell – Owner of Inside Out Wellness
Your mind – Think back to when you were a child; you were oblivious to our external surroundings. Our unconscious mind was being saturated with things all around us and our conscious mind was easy going and from what you remember did not over analyze. We were not born with fear, worry, disappointed.
We learned all of those things. Over the years we will build back up of data files of our past experiences. Only when we get older do these experiences affect every decision in our life from significant others, to jobs, self confidence, etc.
If your mind chatter is not addressed prior to moving into your menopausal years, the hormone fluctuations can cause even greater mind games.
What can you do about this?
It is important for you to take a good hard look at your mind. Believe it or not, at this time of your life your mind is plays a large role in how you adjust to this new stage of your life. If you think it is going to be difficult, you are dreading it, it will happen that way. Think positive. Have you ever noticed that women who tell you they have not time for menopause and don’t think about it twice, seem to ease through this time of their life? Now don’t get me wrong, other factors are involved but your mind plays a bigger role than you think.
Is your own mind hold you back from how you view life and the world around you? Take a moment and think about this.
Do you feel out of sorts with no direction, which end is up or a sense of who you really are in this life of yours? Are you stressed just opening your eyes? If so, your mind chatter is an area for you to focus on.
Here are a few options to start building this area of your life….read books on the topic. Some great authors are Eckhart Tolle, Karim Hajeem, T. Harv Eker and James Arthur Ray just to name a few. Instead of watching TV, which actually changes our mind psychology, read a chapter of a book. I will tell you from my own experience that reading one book is not going to change your mind instantly. You will need to read several different authors and hear it in a number of ways for it to get to your subconscious mind. It will take time, but it is well worth it.
Another option is to enlist life coaching either in a group or individual setting. Life coaches are great for getting to the route of why you are responding to a situation in a certain way. Pick what best suits your needs.
